Hairdressers Journal International Launches International Collection of the Year at British Hairdressing Awards

There’s an exciting new category at HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional. British hairdressing has long been considered the best in the world, thanks to a long heritage of iconic names, strong salon groups and world-leading education. From early pioneers like Raymond, Leonard and Vidal Sassoon to more recent household names including Trevor Sorbie, Charles Worthington and Nicky Clarke and fashion leaders like Sam McKnight, Eugene Souleiman and Zoe Irwin, the British industry has always been a breeding ground for inspirational hairdressers.

In more recent years, HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, has been considered the pinnacle of achievement, and has helped propel the careers of homegrown talent including Darren Ambrose, Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck and Sally Brooks.

Now, there’s an opportunity for international hairdressers to make their mark amongst these homegrown greats, as HJ launches an exciting new category at the British Hairdressing Awards.

The brand-new International Collection of the Year category is open to all qualified hairdressers with a regular client column, who work outside of the UK in a commercial environment and have done so for at least three years (excluding training).

To enter, hairdressers must submit four images created during the last 12 months, reflecting aspirational and trend-led hair. Full rules can be viewed at www.hji.co.uk/bha

HJ’s executive director, Jayne Lewis Orr, says: “British hairdressing has long been considered the best in the world and HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, has always sought to recognise that talent. We’re extremely excited to now be opening up the awards to a global audience, and can’t wait to see the work put forward by our international peers. As well as opening up the awards to a new audience, our new International category will also serve to raise the awareness of excellence around the world.”
