JIM SHAW AND DAISY CARTER - MEN'S HAIRDRESSER OF THE YEAR 2019

Jim Shaw, Owner and Director of TONI&GUY Billericay and Daisy Carter, Premium Stylist at TONI&GUY Billericay have been announced as this years Men’s Hairdresser of the Year at the prestigious British Hairdressing Awards deemed the ‘Oscar’s’ of the hairdressing industry.

To win, the duo had to create a photographic collection, initially of four trend-led images before submitting a further four, which showcased their creativity and technical ability. These collections are displayed in a gallery for judging by more than fifty of the industry’s greatest hairdressers, all of who are experts in their field. Six finalists were then chosen from a judging panel that consisted of renowned industry icons before Jim and Daisy were announced as the winners of the category at the awards ceremony held on 25th November at the Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel.

Rylan Clark-Neal set the tone of the evening and once the regional winners were announced, it was time for the specialist categories that consisted of several categories including Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year, Afro Hairdresser of the Year and Men’s Hairdresser of the Year. For Jim and Daisy, winning this award is an incredible achievement for them to take back to Essex and an award they have sought after for some time, since Jim winning the title back in 2007.

Delighted with their achievement, Jim said: “Myself and Daisy are absolutely overjoyed to have won this award. We have wanted this title for so long and put so much effort and time into creating the perfect collection, which we are so proud of. Last week I was also announced as the Barber of the Year at the Essex Salon Awards and awarded for the Best Male Fashion Look Collection at the National Hairdressing Federation (NHF) Photographic Awards and to win this award is the cherry on top and an incredible end to 2019.”
