FRAE by F&M

Founded in 2001 by business partners Brian MacMillan and Kevin Paul Finnell, F&M Hairdressing located in Barrhead, Glasgow, is a destination salon for all hair and barbering services.

Known for their passion within the hairdressing industry, the F&M Creative Team set out to create their 2019 photographic collection, FRAE, in order to pay homage to their roots and show their appreciation for what their heritage has created. The team worked together, with each member having their own individual input into the planning process. Each team member brought their own piece of inspiration to the planning meetings along with ideas on how they saw the collection looking. From here the moodboard was created and the process began to take shape. The team decided that texture and rich colours where the key element to the shoot and it was decided that each style would be shoot twice, the second time featuring accessories, made by raw Scottish material.

‘FRAE is a collection which portrays our take on Scottish heritage. Each of the images and styles created brings together a variety of textures, fabrics and looks that remind us of the homeland in which we live and work each day.’

‘The word ‘FRAE’ is the Scottish word for ‘From’ and was chosen to reflect our heritage and pay tribute to our ancestors.’
